Biographie Takashi Arima

Takashi Arima, unul din cei mai mari poeți ai Japoniei de azi, s-a născut la 17 decembrie 1931, la Kameoka, Kyoto. Poetul face serioase studii de economie la Universitatea Doshisha, luându-și licența în 1954. Deși atras de științele exacte, tânărul intelectual japonez începe să scrie poezie mai ales după terminarea celui de-al doilea război mondial, un eveniment istoric care a marcat profund societatea niponă, lăsând răni adânci în sensibiltatea oamenilor.
La începutul prodigioasei sale cariere literare, avea să fie influențat de Mitsuharo Kaneko, un cunoscut poet al epocii, traducător al lui Emile Verbaeren și prieten cu Robert Desnos. Devine în curând membru al unei grupări poetice moderniste de la Kyoto, publicând poezii și eseuri mai ales în revista Gendaishi(poezie contemporană).
